Artist name: Jef Buter & Bas Van Veen
Alias: Platform 9
Location: Heerhugowaard & Haarlem, THE NETHERLANDS
Jef Buter and Bas Van Veen, already known as "2-Trance", started out new projects such as "Platform 9" and "Manual Addicts" to name a few.
Jef was born in 1987 and in his early years he already showed huge intrest in music. At the age of 11 he was banging on his mothers piano until his parents lost it and decided to buy him his own keyboard. After this revelation Jef was sure to devote his whole life to music. He took up keyboard lessons, bought a computer and in no-time started to produce his own stuff. After he graduated as a sound engineer the possibilities were limitless and together with his first partner Johan De Leeuw for the 2-Trance project, he achieved in 2003 a breakthrough with articles in the national press, radio coverages, and TV appearances which praised their efforts for remixing and producing dance music. In 2005 Jef started up the label "Novascape Records" together with Johan De Leeuw, Michael Splint and Lucas Carmona. Together with Bas, Jef participaited also at the Masterclass from ID-T.
Bas Van Veen is more an alias then a real name for this DJ/Producer who worked under a lot of names. He was born in 1975 in the capital of dance music Amsterdam. Rhythm has always been Bas's second nature; born in the disco-era, influenced by his parents in classical music, and a brother who introduced him to Drive-Inn parties and grandmixes of Ben Liebrand, are for him the ground basics of his musical journey... Between the age of 16 and 21 he organized a lot of school parties and attended at a lot of illegal/underground parties such as Mushroom, Luna and the Tom-Tom Club. He decided to become a DJ, bought his own equipment and started mixing. 1,5 years later he achieved his first bookings and still plays in clubs and at party's like: Catacomb Studio (4 years recident), IT, Roxy, Lexion (Holland), Europerve, Lexion (Greece), New Dance Radio, Slam FM. In the meantime, together with Fundamental Records, he launched in 2003/2004 "Bas Van Veen - Lockdown" (MadSmash at DJ Jean's radio show) and later "Total Recall", which can be found on many compilations like Trance Energy 2004, Impulz - From Sunset Till Sunrise, Street Parade 2004 - The Official Compilation - Elements Of Culture, following a lot of gigs abroad with outstanding performances for huge crowds in clubs like: Trezor, Kazamaty, Dolmel, 7th Heaven, Protector, Ekwador.
Bas and Jef armed now with 1 semi and 1 professional studio at hand, remix and master all their production by themselves, with the occasional collaboration of well-known remix masters, songwriters and other talented artists. Thanks to the high quality of their productions, this explosive duo has been supported by Ernesto vs. Bastian, Cor Fijneman, Paul Van Dyk, Marcel Woods, Orjan Nilsen, etc.
